Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity

Large Format Print Design/Booklet Design/Campaign Concept

Billboard design for Calgary Airport

Working closely with the centres established and polished brand guidelines, I was asked to design a variety of marketing materials for both internal and external uses.

I was given the task of birthing the full create concept and design for the annual 2020 Midsummer Ball. A high profile, invite-only fund-raiser that brings in millions of dollars to the centre each year.

Initially coming up with four concepts, two were pitched to the centre’s director, and together we decided to develop the following idea.

I was then required to use this concept across all print collateral for the event, art directing in meetings to the media team, social media, as well as external contractors such as companies working on the event’s decor and food.

The invite was designed as a small, multi-layered object intended to provide an intimate, unique and tactile experience for the guests.

The unique stocks and textures acknowledge the organic nature of the land. It connects the guests with the physical material of the print, evoking the freshness of the water, the warmth of the rock, and the rawness of the landscape Banff Centre sits in.
